That's awesome, Elroy.
With all of the stuff I have now, I could definitely bi-amp, but I don't think any of my speakers alone justify it.
Thanks for the inspiration. Sounds pretty audiophile to me.

I was looking at Vandersteens, too, and have spoken with Richard. I found a nice Vandersteen 2WQ Bass module when I was starting out and still have it.

It connects between the pre and amp and came with a crossover for that purpose. My system's reciever connections didn't have the return to the reciever's amps. I didn't quite understand the connections on the 2WQ and may sell it if the right person is interested.

Vandy's are very highly rated for music.

You'd change the system position in the room, or is it another room?
Any gains in sound spectrum? Even though, it is more appealin to the eye. I like it. smile.gif

I moved it to another room, and its a more enclosed room, it definitely changed the sound characteristics, I had to move the speakers closer together because of the size of the room, it looks nice, but havent got the speakers set up perfectly yet, as I have said in a bunch of other posts, the vandy's are particular about their setup,

right now, the system sounds a little more forward than I would prefer, but I think I can smooth it out when I get my pre-amp back and everything set up right I am hoping it will make it smoother. on the plus side, my low end seems like it has a bunch more punch.

Imo, that's because the speakers are more close to the corners of the room.
So, you have now a listenning room. That's great. Are you going to make any room acoustic treatment?

I moved my system to the "formal dining room", I dont or never have had a formal dining area, so I will leave the system there. The stereo was in the "fromal living room" which I will probably have a nice couch, coffee tables and sitting area,

as for room treatments, I dont think I will do anything, unless I can get it at a garage sale, or for free biggrin.gif ,

as for the speakers being close to the outside walls, I agree, I could have used another 2 ft of room,

another thing that I havent had with my system is that in the old setup, one of my speakers didnt have a sidewall to reflect off of, it was open to the foyer, and alot of sound went in that direction, now its all enclosed in the dining room,

It looks like you could move the speakers another couple of feet away from the back wall. With some speakers that would increase the depth and width of the soundstage.

they are 18 inches off the back wall right now, I cant remember what vandersteen wrote in the handbook, but I do know that when it was in the other room, the further the speaker was away from the wall, equaled less bass. I might try that today.

the cd player is a little bigger than the pre-amp, so I think it would look wierd, and I need the space for the dac on top of the pre-amp when I get the teac x-2000 back. I will put the denon TT on the third shelf with the lid off.
