If anyone is interested, I currently own the Yaqin with the single tube 6DJ8 and a Musical Fidelity X10v3 tube buffer in my home theater system and would be happy to answer questions comparing the two. I would definitely like to compare Grant Fidelity's tube buffer to the ones I own. Since Grant's is also made by Yaqin but uses two 6J1 tubes.

Ian,

Thanks for adding me to the demo list. Definitely will give you a detailed report once I receive it. If you have additional tubes that go with your tube buffer, all the better for me to compare. A tube DVD player, that pardon the pun, "sounds interesting". Will be waiting to see what this tube DVD player is and see what tubes it uses.

As you might notice i'd made a small review about the Yaqin, here in tubes, and i'd compared it with my modded MF X-10D. But, the MF Xv3 is a completly different buffer that the X-10D...and i don't know nothing about the v3. sad.gif

Clint E.,

Here is my review from Epinions comparing the Yaqin with the 6DJ8 tube vs. the MF X10v3 tube buffer: http://www.epinions.com/content_312424107652. Definitely like my Yaqin better than my MF, especially after rolling different tubes that have synergy with my system.

I'll up the Tube DVD info and pics next week after the Vancouver open house, where it will be on display for the 2nd time. Sounds great for a DVD player smile.gif and does a decent job on CD's too. Not to shoot ourselves in the foot, but the B-283 on any DVD player does a great job and the P-307 does a fantastic job.

I never tried the Yaqin with other tubes than the Chinese 6J1s that comes with it and GE JAN 5654W. Do you think that i'll have better results with 6DJ8 class of tubes?
If so, i'll have to change the tube's sockets because, as you know 6DJ8 type of tubes are a little larger than the 6J1's.

BTW, tanx for sharing your link review. soundt/thumbup.gif

Clint E.,

Not sure if a better class of tubes the 6DJ8 is vs. the 6J1 that you use but there is quite a bit of tubes to choose from using the Yaqin I have. I use the green label JAN Phillips 6922 tube in my system. Great mids with extended highs and bass vs. other tubes I have tried including other 6DJ8 tubes. If you switch out the sockets of your Yaqin, somehow your two socket unit will have to reduce down to one socket like the one I own to fit a 6DJ8 or 6922 tube.

Tanx for the info SLBenz. soundt/thumbup.gif
But, because i allready have 6DJ8 class tubes in the MF X-10D and the synergy between them - because i use two buffers (Yaqin and MF X10d) are awesome. wink.gif (I'd made some tube rolling in my MF - 6922 JAN Philips, ECC88 Philips, NOS Siemens ECC85, NOS Telefunken ECC88, JJ E88CC, etc... biggrin.gif
So, now i end up choosing NOS 6H23p russian tubes. Almost like NOS Telefunken but at half price.)

....so.........for now, i'll stick with the GE JAN 5654W in the Yaqin and the 6H23p in the MF.
Tanx for the input. soundt/thumbup.gif

A B-283 owner is doing lots of tube rolling here and next week we start rolling in cyrogentic treated tubes (6J1s) for testing.

Ian,

Thanks for sharing and when you are ready to send the unit to me to compare against my Yaqin with the single tube and my MF X10v3, I will certainly add your product onto the Epinions site with my review.

In these class of valves i'd tried a lot of them because of my MF X10-D.
Between all that i'd mention previously, i also tried Philips PCC88 and NOS ECC88 Mullard, but the best of them all - in my system of course - are the 6H23p-EB. Did you ever tried one of those in your Yaqin?

I tried the first two you mentioned but have not tried the last one you listed. I will have to contact my local tube dealer to see if he has one for me to try.
