I guess the best way to show this is a timeline from 2005, showing the different transitions I've been through.
Keeping a record like this is rewarding in a kind of way as it shows how far I've come from the days of my Kenwoods and the like! I've successfully managed to curtail the clutter by essentially 'flipping' the room around so that the sofa sits in the bay window and my TV on the sunset wall, and I've reduced the number of systems down from 4 to 2, as I was beginning to trip over things! Having the sofa in the window has it's positives and negatives. I now get 40Hz bass The final touches involved getting some lamps to 'augment' my use of the PAR38 floodlighting I use. It's the only way my mum would agree to come into my room to listen to music. I was skeptical of this 'namby pamby' stuff initially, but I have to say the addition of the lamps definitely has increased my satisfaction when listening to music. PS - The only thing that's missing in the photo are my IMF Professional Monitor MKIII, and the photo shows my Valve setup in my Music Room, but this setup has since been moved into my bedroom . -------------------- ........................................ Wow, Richard, I hadn´t realized you had amassed as much good gear as you have.
Fantastic looking room. Very tidy and spendidly laid out, IMO. One can tell every little corner in your room has been carefully tought out. I particularly enjoyed the stands you improvised under the little Goodman Achromats. You have come a long way, and you had the opportunity of listening to so many different pieces of gear in the process. Would you consider an in-depth review of a couple of your favourite pieces?
