You have really moved into the heavy weight division, Richard.
The RSPM´s are even bigger, I think. http://www.imf-electronics.com/ Jorge |

Good looking speakers.

One look and I knew they were IMFs.
Good score! I look forward to hearing a full review. I've been offered some Fried G3s for $75, but they're supposedly 150 to 190 pounds each, 18" wide, 18" deep, and around 5 feet tall. I just don't have the room for 'em. Tell me what I'm missing with that great transmission line bass and midrange... -------------------- What you got back home, lil' sister, to play yer fuzzy warbles on? Hi Paul, Can't say I've heard of any Fried models, so I couldn't comment specifically, but I'd imagine them to be an ass-whooping speaker with those sort of dimensions! I'm lucky to have a willing father with a good sized estate car to facilitate my speaker purchases. I was having palpatations as my mum and dad were struggling to carry the MKIIIs up the front steps. Luckily they're on castors so I can move them round the floor ok. They're in my parents' living room at the moment. My dad wants to wait until my brother comes home for a holiday before attempting the deadlift upto my room My mum was disgusted at the monstrous size of these things in her living room, but after forcing her to listen to a few songs she likes them more and more The formica finish is, shall we say, interesting. I actually quite like the quirkiness of it. At least its kept them in ace condition, - there's hardly a mark on them! I don't think I have the energy just now to write a full blown review. But what I will say is that these are the most balanced sounding speakers I've heard. Usually, with any speaker, you close your eyes and you can detect at least one sound characteristic which makes the experience like listening to a speaker as apposed to music. With these on the otherhand, the sound is so well balanced from bass to midrange to treble that all you can hear is the MUSIC! The most engaging listening experience I've had yet! PS - If I had to characterise the bass of transmission lines, I'd use two words: REAL and EFFORTLESS. No need for a subwoofer with these babies!...... -------------------- ........................................ Click Here To See ........................................

Paul, I read in one of your threads that you'll be passing up the chance of any IMFs due to space restrictions. That's a bummer man, because I know you'd love them. I'm sure if you heard a pair you'd change your mind. Would you consider a further herd-thinning exercise if it meant you could accommodate them? I'm selling 4 pairs to accommodate the IMFs. Actually, I'd never thought I'd say this, but these IMFs and my Wharfedale Valdus 500s are the only two pairs of speakers I need now (but don't tell my mum otherwise there will be a mass speaker exodus in Scotland!
