I'll admit that I have trouble remembering the few speakers I've had the chance to own over the last three and a half years I've spent in this hobby. When I occasionally think about it, I'm surprised at what goodies I have had. While typing up a quick list for my own reference, I thought of doing this thread.
My hope for this thread is that y'all post what speakers you own or have owned. This is so that if another member down the road is curious how a certain model sounds, they'll be able to look here and know who to ask for an opinion. At the very least it gives some of us a chance to show off a little as I know some of you have very impressive collections. I do ask that you stick to speakers you own, have owned or at the least had an opportunity to listen to in your system and listening room for an extended period of time. There's no way I can remember all the different speaker models I've heard (somewhere in the hundreds, I think) and listening in unfamiliar surroundings with unfamiliar gear can make for perception disparities. My list: Acoustic Research AR-1 Advent/1- Advent Baby* Advent Large* Advent Small* Altec A7-500 VOTT* Bose 301 Series II* Boston Acoustics A70- Bozak 302A* Dahlquist DQ-10* Design Acoustics D-6 Design Acoustics D-12 Design Acoustics PS-3 Design Acoustics PS-10- Dynaco A-25 Electro-Voice CDP-848AT- EPI 120C* Flatline Design Model 175 GE S1201D-7- Infinity ES-1 (TBR) Infinity Quantum 2 Infinity RSb- Infinity RSM (Reference Studio Monitor)* Knight KN-830 Magnepan MG-I Magnepan MMG-W- Optimus Nova 71 Pioneer HPM-40/U1- Pioneer HPM-40/U2* Pioneer HPM-100* Pioneer SE-50 Realistic Minimus-20- Realistic Nova-15- Realistic Optimus-990* Sansui SP-1500* Sony SS-U531AV* Sound Lab A-2 (TBR) Tannoy Berkeley Western Electric 100E * = Sold or given away - = Out on loan TBR = To Be Repaired I left out some real low end speakers. Well, I've heard many speakers in my life, but currently only own a few:
Bozak 401s - 2 pair Bozak 301s Rectilinear IIIs Also have a pair of mint condition Kenwood KL-777A speakers with all original boxes, manual, and registration cards that I'm probably going to attempt to sell soon. On my wish list are a pair of Bozak 302A Urbans and Bozak Concert Grands. -------------------- A diamond with a flaw is better than a stone that is perfect.
